A night in the Parc de Mercantour

This hike up to the Col de Fremamorte near Lake "Nègre" (seen below) was extremely beautiful. With the new "super tent", we chose the most gorgeous site in Europe, complete with groundhogs, ibex in the evening and chamois in the morning, all approaching our stream-scattered valley from the surrounding hills...
The next day I had no camera battery left to capture the mountain views on both the Italian and the French sides of the mountain top, or the WWII bunker inhabited by a family of chamois, including a little one still nursing, all lounging at the bunker with the best view of the valley.
