News from Nice
BIG NEWS at home. To the interest of all those having suffered the extremely low water pressure there.
Background: For 2 years (to the day, but more for Edouard!) we've been showering with a limited amount of drips out of the showerhead. Worse, toilet flushing could not be simultaneous with dish washing. Well, yesterday Ed decided to ask the neighbour if he too had unbearably low water pressure.
Response: "I remember the former owner installing something to limit pressure."
Result: Ed went into the wash room, turned a screw (see figure 1 below)... and we can now flush the toilet, take an effective shower and wash dishes - AT THE SAME TIME. We have since been giddy with excitement. No more hair washing with a bucket or having to put off teeth brushing while the toilet flushes!!
Here, taking pictures of the snowy Alps.
A lovely view of medieval Eze village, perched on a cliff by the sea.
The Trophy of the Alps, Turbie, built for the first ruler of the Roman empire, Julius Caesar Augustus, to celebrate his victory over the people of the Alps. This is all that's left of it, but it's height and size still makes it quite impressive.
