Lac Nègre, from lake level.

What a nice place to relax.

Lac Nègre, from above, the next day. The people are itty bitty (yes mom, miniature humans).

After camping (in the same preferential spot as our first bivouak site 2 years ago), we hiked up to Col de Fremamorte, and had this splendid view of the Fremamorte mountain lakes, high above "our" valley.

We then hiked over to the Italian side.

Despite the worry that our planned path would be a steep dead end, we posed before yet other hidden lakes (hidden from view even in this picture :-) off the beaten path. Stunning views.

On our way up to Col de Bresse, the colours of this lake were worthy of the Tahitian lagoon, despite opposite temperature ranges.

The same lake, from a bit higher up.

We came home when the cows came home :-) . I followed this gal down the path a ways. We got to watch the shepherd and his amazing dog round up these poor, tired, milk-laden beasts, yipping them into sprints across difficult terrain. An interesting end to our lovely weekend.
